FOBP will begin a new Binney Park Native Meadow Garden in the north end of Binney Park (across from Perrot Library) and we are welcoming volunteers. We will be sheet mulching the footprint of the pollinator garden to ready it to plant in the fall. 

Steps for June 18 will include:

1) defining the pollinator garden footprint

2) laying down brown corrugated cardboard - PLEASE BRING YOUR STOCKPILES OF CARDBOARD

3) saturating the cardboard with water to start the breakdown process

4) covering the cardboard with a layer of woodchips to keep in place and improve the site line until the garden is installed

5) continue weeding in the hedge backdrop to the garden (primarily mugwort)

In the fall, we will remove the woodchips and plant directly into the cardboard. Date TBD.
