Friends of Binney Park is partnering with Greenwich Eco-Alliance, a group of Greenwich High School students, looking to make Greenwich a greener, healthier, and more beautiful place to live, to improve some habitat at Helen Binney Kitchel Natural Park by planting native American Holly trees.
Volunteers are needed April 16–17.
Volunteers will clear a targeted site of invasive plants and prepare the area for planting. We will meet in the woods across from the Perrot Library at 10 AM on April 16th to complete the removal and prep, then again at 10 AM on April 17th to plant the trees. Community service hours will be given. Contact Mark Zolotarevsky at zolotarevskymk@gmail.com or 203-817-1045 to let us know if you can come help.
Donations are welcome—$300 plants a tree. Any amount helps these inspiring GHS students plant more green into our town. The FoBP is proud to partner with Greenwich Eco-Alliance and will dedicate any donation from now through Earth Day — April 22, 2025 — to the tree plantings.
